This international Women’s Day, we’re celebrating all the strong women in our lives – our mothers, sisters, daughters, relatives, partners, colleagues, and friends.
No matter who you are, you’re surrounded by at least one such woman who has been there to inspire, encourage, and push you when you need it, and this day is all about celebrating them and acknowledging the part they play in making our society better.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2022 is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”. Even though we’ve come a long way from 1909, when International Women’s Day was first observed, there is still much to be done.
Around the world, many girls still need to fight for their right to education, many women still need to break social stigma to go to work, others are still fighting to make choices for themselves, but we’ve also come a long way.
Innumerable women are at the forefront of our fight against COVID-19, and so many more are working tirelessly to get out economy back on track after the pandemic-related disruptions. Today, some of the most innovative, agile, and astute business people are women, like Indra Nooyi (Former CEO of PepsiCo), Falguni Nayar (Founder & CEO of Nykaa), Sheryl Sandberg (COO of Meta Platforms), Ophra Winfrey (CEO and CCO of the Oprah Winfrey Network), Safra Catz (CEO of Oracle), Susan Wojcicki (CEO of YouTube), and so many more.
CreditEnable too is a woman-led tech company, and our Founder and CEO, Nadia Sood, is a proponent of hiring, mentoring, and championing strong women. Women make up 56% of all CreditEnable employees, and every day we work in a male-dominated sector to advocate for our SME customers. Working alongside our 25+ lender partners, we push to ensure all our SME customers, and especially those entrepreneurs who are women, get access to hassle-free business loans they need to grow.
20.37% of all MSMEs in India were owned by women in 2021, and many more start home businesses every day. We want to help build a future where more women have the right social, financial, and legal support to start their own businesses and become the next Falguni Nayar!
So, this year, CreditEnable will work even harder to enable more business loans for women-owned businesses, and we’re going to continue to be their financial advisors, advocates, and cheerleaders!
